ABOUT ME
The story of my tattoo art
If you’re new here, my name is Maryssa Anne and I am a tattoo and fine artist originally from Clayton, North Carolina.
Growing up I knew of two things that I wanted for my future; to be an artist… and to travel the world. I remember collecting little trinkets about France, Italy, and other European countries; daydreaming for the day to come where I would get on a plane and be next to the art I’ve only seen in textbooks. Little did I know… I would be able to do both all because of the career I chose at 18 years old.
I became a tattoo apprentice after walking into a tattoo studio and fell in LOVE with the atmosphere, especially the idea of possibility within skin art. After apprenticing for two years, I became a full time artist and officially started my journey of not only my career, but also finally becoming a professional in the field I cherished most.
The tattoo industry is responsible for so many amazing opportunities in my life, and for that I will forever be grateful and love it. I met my husband in the tattoo shop, traveled to 34 different countries (so far),and met like minded people because of this career. I have a passion for my job because it isn’t work to me… it’s a lifestyle, and I hope you can see that through my work.
Tattooing has changed my life, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to change yours.
HIGHLIGHTS
My recent work
Nathan Leasure – Japanese Sleeve
Nathan emailed me in May of 2024 for a completely custom leg sleeve. The only thing he said was to have fun with the design. After we talked back and forth I decided to go with a Japanese inspired theme, in my own style. We still have the inner leg to go but so far this is one of my favorite passion projects.
Tyler Barnes – Black and White Sleeve
Tyler is a client of mine from many years ago, and he wanted to get a custom leg sleeve done by me with the only specification of it being a dark “death” theme. His sleeve was completed in 3 months due to him sitting 2 days in a row for each session.
